I like the lift off pose, with just enough rock to establish the situation. Excellent eye contact.
The light angle is the main concern. I do think that if you haven't already down some shadows protection work, that you can bring up the underwing area and lighten the area around the eye a bit, and really maximize the image.
This is just a personal thing, but the background on the left, tricks me into thinking there is lettering, and I keep trying to read it! Perhaps blur it a bit more so it doesn't give that impression.
Thanks for sharing, and I for one am not bored with this series!!
Super Dave. This is one shot I did not get when I was there. Ditto randy to lighteb the eye but your shadows are great. Randy your version looks a bit flat
Well timed for the take off Dave, and love the look back glance. Good detail on the vulture, and Im glad you included the rock. As these guys enjoy the hot thermals of midday, direction of light is always going to be a factor.
Thanks for the comments.
Randy you time and efforts are appreciated.
Yes light is a problem at GC as the bird do not normally fly early in sweet light and as you have to book well in advance and you are then lucky to get time that suits and you take your luck with the weather, It is sunny for 80% of the time and when it is overcast it is heavily so. No excuse just fact, you must make the best of what you get, if you what to capture these birds.
Randy I have already done some work on the shadows and the highlights and wanted to stop before noise became a problem. I think Axel is correct in his assesment, I will give it go.
The joy of seeing and capturing these birds is just fantastic.
