    From late this afternoon at Marco Island.

    Nikon D3, Nikon 70-200 w/ 1.4 tc @ 280mm, f4, 1/400, ISO 400, Manual Mode.

    Hi Oscar,
    I like the capture, the image is a tad under exposed, the blacks are lacking details and the eye area is too dark...would suggest adjusting the mid-tones, and adjusting the black point, open up the area around the eye and selective sharpen it...I like the raised wing position and the bill scooping the water...looking forward to your next one...:cool:

    Oscar, I like the light coming thru the beak and wing tips,nice pose also. Would like to see the eye area a bit more. Congrats!

    This is a tough one Oscar Exposure is not bad at all Might try giving the bird more room and making a little smaller in frame so you don't have to worry that much about detail.

    With your tech settings and distance you had a chance at using flash ... helpful in all of these and neat effects can be achieved !!!

    glad you got to see some skimmers! better than my last trip over. use the flash!! it's a neat photo with lots of possibilities OOTB.

    Beautiful image, what did you meter from?

    HH, close for 280, or was it a large crop. I love the feel.
