Hello all. Home safe and sound and going through the pictures. Caught this little yellow-rump at the "Sheepeater Cliffs" area along the road to the Mammoth Hot Springs in YSNP.

Converted in LR2 then CS4 for sharpening and the usual color, curves, etc. Fairly large crop and NR with Topaz Denoise. This was a "grab shot" and the f/8 was set for taking some shots of the cliffs. ;) It had just stopped raining and there wasn't much light...

Hi Kerry You did well with the bird but the small aperture got you Would try Gaussian blur see if you can tame the bg The one light round area is eye catching !!!!

Thanks for the good advice. I did some work on the bg, hope it looks better.

I did both a Gaussian blur and a lens blur on the bg layer. Made a layer mask and painted out the foreground foliage with varying opacities of the brush. Tried to make it look like the lens did it... What do you think?

HI kerry - repost looks a lot better to my eyes - like the pose and the composition - for my tastes the weed/branch on the LHS could be evicted :)
Nice job for a grab shot.
