In the mood for a bit of drama, side lit bird, with the burn tool used extensively to accentuate the mood.

This has an interesting mood.....which is something you create so well. I think this is one of those images that would be incredible in a large size on the wall but the smaller size here on the web just doesn't do it justice. I like your creative thinking.

Fabs, I think this works very well. The lighting is dramatic and the composition does bring you right to the subject.
    Well thoughtout!

Not an easy one to critique. I like the over all mood. At first I thought it was too dark but then changed my mind. The one thing I am not sure my eye likes is how the back of the subject runs black into black bg and you lose the outline somewhat. Not sure if that matters, just a thought. I would call this "awakening".

I like the mood, but I'd like to see a bit more BG separation on the right - just enough to clearly show the outline of the bird's back.

Definitely interesting, I found myself looking at this for a long time. Kind of wish that there was more light on the bird's head and that the head was a little sharper ?? Thinking that web presentation may not be doing this justice. BTW- your web site is beautiful.

Fabs, comp works well, and like the side light, especially on the eye. I see a distinction between the edge of the bird and BG, so it works for me. Well thoughtout.

Going old school with the burn tool!!
    Well seen and executed.

I didn't think I would be seeing a photo like this here, a photo under this kind of lighting situation ! Thank you, Fabs, and congrats !!

Probably needless to say, but when I see something like this, I just get out of my chair and dance. Nicely done!:D
