    Not sure if this picture of a Stonechat works or not...

    I like the colours, textures and the parallel lines of the reeds. Looks a little oversharpened and the saturation could maybe be dialed back a little.

    I like it, the lines of the reeds take us to the small bird. Agree with Tony's comments on sharpness and saturation.

    I like the inclusion of the vegetation and agree regarding saturation. I would run some NR on the BG and maybe a bit CW rotation?

    It works for me but I agree about sharpening and saturation. I only wish for a less busy BG but love the composition and the idea of including such a great amount of habitat.

    On one hand, the photographer must consider his audience. On the other hand, the photographer must have enough confidence in his own view of the world to confidently take his own path and depict the world as he sees it.

    If this is the only forum on which you post, I would recommend that you "be sure". Otherwise, you will end up making the type of images that succeed here and have a style that works here but not necessarily anywhere else.

    Seek criticism from a wide variety of sources. Each group has its own culture and style. You can learn something from each group, but in order to grow, you need to cast your net wider.
