I had the opportunity to shoot with Roman K. Certainly helps to go out with the good guys! I got a couple decent Tree Swallows. CanonEOS40D, ISO 800, F/8, 1/3200.

Good details ! I've got a couple of shots like that but not as good. Personally I prefer the wings spread more and to the rear but, understandably, that was not your call. I also think the image could look even better with some more sharpening and color boost.

    Good job !

Excellent Nick and a tough bird !!!

Agree with suggestion by Desmond but you got a keeper Go over the eye area and give it another pass. When you see these you start to appreciate the 10 fps cameras !!! Man this is close !!!

    Hey Nick,
I was great going out with you and trying these out! I told you the keeper rate is extremely low but when you get one it works! This is very goood but agree with running a bit of USM on the eye and a few selective areas(feet). I will tell you that even with the 10fps......they were in and out in 1to2 frames....so these little rockets are an 11 on the difficulty scale of 1-10! Definitely not for the faint of heart! Good thing is we get a few more chances at it!

    Great capture Nick,
I like the details, agree on selective sharpening the eye...Love the dark background, it makes your bird pop...looking forward to your next one...
