    Default Common Yellowthroat

I didn't have much time for photography this weekend (both my youngest son and my wife's birthdays) so I only headed out a couple of hundred meters from home to photograph this beautiful little fella this morning. Audio and blind used to lure it onto this chosen perch (a naturally fallen small tree that I dragged in front of a suitable BG).

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @370, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/200s., f/6.3, ISO 200, -0.3 EC, natural light, handheld, ~85% full-frame.

Hi Dan, looks a bit dark and might need a bit more sharpening, at least on my monitor, perch and comp are very nice.

I like the soft light. Sharpness is ok for me. Lovely background. The perch may be a little big for the bird.
    I like it a lot.

    Daniel:

Nice to be able to capture and image close to home!

Lovely colors. I do agree with Art re: sharpness. The near wing and abdomen appear sharper than the eye and bill. Not much, but perhaps another round of USM, esp. on the eye.

    Happy birthday to your crew!

Hi Daniel, cool little guy, and I like the softer colours on him. Lovely perch, and well postioned against a great OOF BG.

I like the angle, pose and BG. Another vote for a slightly lighter image and a bit more sharpening of the head.
