    Default Theme: Flips WINNERS

    sorry.....long post!!

This has been a week of Flips a' Plenty. We had some 35+
submittals from members and and 16 from the moderators.

Seems all had a good time and there was a very obvious
improvement if flip quality as the week went on and the
    concept was further explored.

Every single one has a good quality and this was very hard
to judge. Had to take a close look at the images and see
which one's just "grabbed" me and go from there.

Here's the collection, mod picks and another image below:

Congratulations to all, this was a lot of fun

1st Place: Dave Mills' "A Real Beauty".
Super creative and one that definitely "grabs" me. Much like
a caricature. Dave wrote: "If my sister-in-law knew I used her
picture for this she would have my head...so I used hers."
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38066

2nd Place: Mark Fuge's "GB Packer's New Offensive Line".
Playful and powerful. Demands a second look. Would hang on my wall.
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38068

3rd Place: Paul Lagasi's "Double Flip"
A most pleasing combo of color, patterns and image in this quadflip.
Looks like a totem, a sign board, a tapestry......and/or anything
    your mind's eye might perceive.
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=37719

4th Place: Cheryl Slechta's "Cattle Egret Einstein".
Flips usually picture the unusual, unrecognizable final element.
Here Cheryl has done that, but definitely has re-created that very
    recognizable Einstein look.
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38145

5th Place: Dan Brown's "Great Horned Silky Owl".
The kind of image I could perceive.....creepy, but beautiful.
Simple, but effective. Great late entry Dan.
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38212

5 Honorable Mentions, in no particular order
    Dave Woeller's "Eleflip"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=37935

Indranil Sircar's "Who Can Get It First"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38070

    Mark Fuge's "Evening Flight"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38195

    Dave Mills' "Sad Eyes"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38115

Dan Brown's "Costa Rican Humming-Owl, in flight"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38149

    ************************************************** ***************

Some 16 entries by moderators Denise, Lance and Fabs....all well
done and they each showed a definite progression in "flippiness".

    A few of my favs:
    Denise's "Cormorant Lagoon"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38024

    Lance's "Fish Tank Flipper"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=37767

    Denise's "Gazebo"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38129

    Lance's "Last Flip" (for now)
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38201

and Fabs' Intricate quadflip, "A ladies antique brouche"
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=38140

Like I noted above, "Every single one has a good quality" and deserves
Honorable Mention and a definite lookback if you get time. Fun for
the viewer is trying to visualize the original.
Thanks friends, been a fun week....CONGRATULATIONS to ALL!

Thanks for your effort Dave, I agree that it was a tough one to judge. Didn't think I'd make the cut, but it was fun and that's what counts.

    Congratulations to the other winners.

All were winners on the learning curve.
