Okay.... let's try this different approach. No Gausian blur this time. I worked on the exposure and curves on the whites. I lightened and sharpened the eye. I did major renovation on the background to eliminate distractions and light areas. I used Topaz noise reduction. I used NIK software for polarization, center lighten/darken, and, vignette blur.
I did not change saturation from the as shot image. What you see is what was from the camera. In previous posts there was a comment about back lighting. The sun was at my back. My shadow was pointing at the bird. However, there was light reflecting off the vegetation in the background. There was a "hot" area to the left and just above the birds beak.
I learned a lot about Gausian blur that I did not know. Now I do and hopefully other people that have read the posts have learned too.
