Male Snail Kite from this morning on Lake Toho, Fl. Challenged with constantly changing light due to impending storms. I know the HAP will probably pipe in but I liked the juxtaposition of the tail in relation to his wings.

MKIII, 500mm, 1/2000, f/7.1, ISO 640, E.C. +1, hand held from my boat, Full frame horizontally.

I agree, Mike the canted tail controlling the flight is superb. I don't think head angle has anything to do with this image. Eye contact is nice. BG is a little busy and maybe toning down the greens a little would be an option. I really like these images that illustrate the aerodynamics of flight.

Sure the tail has a very important role in thi simage. I like it a lot with such a nice soft light and the sharpness in the face and in the taloons. A more OOF Bg would much better but you can be very happy with this image Mike :-)

I like the soft light, pose and eye contact. I don't mind the BG at all but would sharpen the bird a bit more.

The pano crop works well Mike, and love the angle of approach. Great eye contact, and you have certainly captured the aerodynamics in this, with regards to the tail. Although not distracting, I would maybe try and blur the BG a bit more.
