Another HDR image, this time made from one image processed at three different exposures then run through Photomatix. Finished up with much tweaking in Photoshop including final use of the Lighting Effects filter.

Really appreciate your comments and criticisms.

Paul, This has beautiful color tones throughout. I would clean-up a few spots(prob. sm. birds)in sky. Nice separation between boats, wish the one on the left was a bit stronger . A very slight crop rotation is needed. I think this is a very peaceful image and I like it alot.

I almost forgot-I went on your web-site and your Deer Shadow image in the Interpretive Category is really really special!!

I like it, but if it were mine I would crop out the last boat on the left. Nice to have it, but the others to me are indistinct, while that one is more focused. I think it takes away from the overall image a little.

Also, the power of thirds comes into the composition with the removal of the last boat. You have three boats together ahead and three boats trailing. Again, that is definately a personal choice.

    Your call. Just a suggestion.

I like it as is. Nice shot.

Makes me want to hoist the main, trim the jib and head out to sea. ;) :D

Thanks, folks! You've opened up my eyes to trying different things with this image. It has become a real exercise in composition. I like that!

Denise, thanks for visiting my site and especially for your comment on "Deer Shadow". Just a very brief moment of creative shooting from the comfort of my lounge chair at a camp site in the Texas Hill Country. I might have even put down my beer for this, but I wouldn't swear to it.
