I hope I am posting this to the correct forum.

I have a problem with how to record my EXIF data, in particular the f stop used.

My camera is Nikon D300 with a Sigma 105mm macro lens. They record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. This means that the recorded f stop is often a higher number than it would be otherwise, sometimes going up as high as f45. This is confusing to most people, including me, and makes it difficult to compare f stops with other cameras.

For an explanation of relative of effective f stop, go to the next to the last question at this site: http://www.jeffree.co.uk/pages/macro-faqs.html ).

Does anyone else have this issue? How do I handle it?

Thanks,
Anita Bower
