This skittish Killdeer appeared before me for a minute or two this morning. The image was cropped, adjusted and sharpened in Lightroom only. I wonder about the contrast, do I have the color right (plus other things, of course). It looks a bit flat to me. The histogram is not spread out very well at all, only a series of peaks, so I assume my camera setting were questionable. C&C appreciated.

i like the composition of this even though it's not a super low capture angle. the strutting pose is a bonus. there are two dust bunnies in the bg over the back of the bird. easily fixed. i would reduce the brightness and the contrast here. will look a lot more natural when you do. may try to lighten the eye area a little too.

    nice job, wendell!!

Lance, here is a re-post. Is it better? Still does not look very good to me . . . there is something wrong with it . . .

Hi wendell - thinking something more along these lines.
Did a reverse S curve - reduced the brightness a little and did some selective colour adjustments.

    Any better.

Lance, thanks, you made it look better . . . I had too much green on the re-post, for one thing . . . well, maybe next time I'll improve -- Killdeers may not be my "thing".
