I love the water color in this wood duck photo that I took a couple of weeks ago.

Lookin good Doug. Good exposure, sharpness etc... I will have to look at this while I am not on my laptop becasue the water looks grey to me??

Nice eye contact and water color. I would decrease the contrast, there is not much detail in the blacks.

I really like the water color and that head tilt.

There's not much detail in the blacks with adjustments either, unfortunately. Here's a repost.

If it's RAW you could go back and change the black setting. If you look at the histogram you will see what I mean.

It was shot RAW, and I edited it in Lightroom prior to CS3. But the detail in the blacks is not recoverable, at least not with my skill set.

You mean the black slider was at 0? Do you remember the settings for contrast and curves in ACR?

I tried the black slider at 0, the Recovery slider at 100, boosting the exposure, backing off on the contrast, and moving the Darks slider to the right. Nothing I did pulled any detail from the black areas. Usually I'm able to pull out the detail in the darks, but in this case I wasn't. I'd be happy to send you the RAW file and let you have a crack at it.

Sure, feel free to send it to the e-mail account in my profile. I'm really interested if there is something one can do to get more details. I might be away for a few hours but will get back to you later today.

Axel, there's no way to attach a file to an email message using the forum email options. Any ideas?
