    This Galah was nesting in a tree hollow about 16 feet up. The tell-tale denuded tree trunk is a dead give away to thier nesting site. Like other cockatoos they spend hours stripping bark from below the nest hollow to deny goannas a foot hold!!

    Canon EOS 3, Canon 100-300 F5.6L, Fuji RDP 100, 1/125 sec F11, Hide/tower, tripod, Natural light and fill-flash.

    Excellent image, I like the light details and exposure control. It is just a bit tight in the frame for my taste.

    Such a beautiful bird! A little more room on the left would improve this photo.

    One of my favorite birds John, until one hit me in the helmet and tore my neck muscles some time back.

    A great image John which shows the cheeky nature of these pesky birds.

    Wow! What a terrific image John! Agree for a bit more room but love everything else. Thanks for adding info on the nesting behavior, very interesting.
