    Default GBH flight and Habitat

One of the last days I was at Wako, the GBHs were on the second nesting round of the season and were very busy flying back and forth. I though the BG was interesting.

I like the pose, eye contact and details but the BG makes this one for me.

Nice flight shot, bird is well exposed, and sharp. Love the background.

Fabs, the heron just pops so nicely from the BG. Comp works well, with lots of space to fly into, and love the flying posture. Good detail, and as Axel has said, brilliant BG. Congrats.

The bird is very nicely done in terms of pose, exposure, and sharpness, Fabs. The included habitat is a big plus here and I really like the positioning of the bird between the two areas of green bald cypress (?) branches. The background habitat is recognizable, but blurred just enough so that the bird stands out from it.

Excellent flight pose and indeed the BG is what makes this for me too. :)

    Fabs, another incredible image!

After listening to you interview and the fact that you insist that the birds are almost tame and readily accept photographers, I think you have have a -10 point handicap as, apparently, all you do is show up ;) and they perform for you! :p :D

They sure don't perform for this newbie :( :D

    Lot's to learn!

Great image; interesting and informative interview. Looking forward to visiting these tame birds!

    Cheers,

You are one of a handful that can post a GBH image......and have it interestingly different than any other. Obviously a nice flight image but......that BG really gives this one a 3D look. I feel that if I touch the screen of the dark bottom that my finger will just keep on going through my screen. Oh momma I like this one.

    Hey Fabs,
Sweet BG and pose! This is a tough one to pull off as I have 100's with cra**y BG's. I should have known that you would be the one to pull it off!....and at 1/500 sec with the tc on! Now this is what a habitat image should look like!
