    Green Heron at Gilbert Water Ranch (Gilbert, Arizona)

    This guy is just out of his nest (the nest is about a foot to the right). It was hard for me determine the sharpness what with all the fuzziness of this guy.

    1/500 at f11 and ISO400 EC -4/3
    Bigma at 500mm
    Canon 40D

    Cool pose and eye contact, he has quite some growing up to do. Sharpness looks good, too, I only find the OOF branch in the foreground a bit distracting.

    Unbelievable and adorable, he's looking to Heaven for strength :)
    I like the habitat included a lot. Some feet!

    Scott, great sighting. His feet are larger than his head, and love the pose. Good sharp detail on the head, and hope he grows up well.

    What a character......with those big eyes and feet. Being a youngster, I'd expect him to be surrounded in his habitat. I think you did well to have most of him free and clear of the branches. Well done.
