Default Pine Warbler - my first one.

I've seen these guys before, but never had the opportunity to properly photograph one. While trying to attract a Dark-eyed Junco (via audio) this guy surprised me by coming in instead - they do have a somewhat similar "trilling" call. I quickly changed the call to it's own and it perched nicely - although with some unfortunate branches in URC that I have toned down in PS to help minimize a bit - they were quite light and "lime green" before that. I do like the breeding habitat depicted.

Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/100s., f/6.3, ISO 640, -0.3 EC, natural light, handheld, just about full-frame, audio + blind used.

Very nice catch, Daniel, I also like the pine habitat included, especially the way the lighter ones are framing his body without touching. Good post processing job and I'd crop 1/2 inch off the bottom, to get a cleaner edge.

I like the setting, soft light and angle and might sharpen the bird a bit more.

Very nice as is, like the habitat including the URHC, like how it frames the bird. Agree with Fabs on the crop.

The inquisitive look makes this for me. Super comp, and I like the placement of the warbler. Lovely soft, well exposed colours, and the surrounding foliage doesnt bother me. Well captured Daniel.

BG is a bit bussy to my taste, still, a lovely image, with great pose, detail, light and colors. Congratulations!

The bird is nicely done, Daniel, with a good pose and head angle, but the included habitat sets this image apart. I like the branch in the URC, as presented, and I agree with Fabs that a slight crop off the bottom - just to omit those few light areas - would make this image even better. Good job hand holding a 400 at 1/100 sec.

I just love all the greenery in this one......makes the image seem so natural. Wonderful pose on this guy. I might crop a little off the bottom but I can't take my eyes off the warbler. Well done.

Nice job Daniel. Soft yet sharp, the colors and texture of the pine goes well with your bird.
