Was sitting down about 2 hours before sunset, and with superb light I was testing some shots at 400 ISO, usually anything over 200 ISO using a Olympus is a no, no! Notice light was so clean I had to use -0.70 eV to get rid of the blinkies.
Anyway, while taking photos of a feeding setup, I heard this enraged cry of a Common Raven screaming away about a 100' east in the fork of a tree. Picked up my hiking stick for balance, I stalked the bird taking photos every couple of steps holding the camera with one hand and lens at 600 mm. At about 30' with the Raven not paying me a whit of attention, it jumped down onto the brown ornamental rock spread over the garden floor, and still appearing epileptic, red faced and frantic it continued walking towards me. Have no idea why he was so upset, Maybe the 109 º weather??
Still balancing the camera with one hand I took this final photo which I gave one pass of Imagenomic Noiseware Pro and tad of curves.

All comments very welcome.
Olympus E-520 with very effective camera built-in IS (1-Reg., 2-Horz, 3-Vert) and very poor high ISO results. Zuiko 70-300 ED @ 600 mm HH, one hand. F/6.3, 1/1000s, ISO 400, -0.70 eV, Auto WB
Hi Gus - might just be my screen - this guy is looking a little soft and maybe some smearing of detail due to the pass of NR.
Like the open beak in your face pose.
Hi Uncle,
I like the close up pose...your bird is a tad on the soft side, and a see noise in the eye...I like the different versions...looking forward to more...
Have a look at this one with the bird selectively sharpened & the eye selectively treated with one run of Noiseware Pro.
Have just installed the latest Nvidia update, version 185.85, dated May 7, 2009, and calibrated the monitor with eye-one display 2. Calibrationstrip at bottom of page displaying perfectly with each color clearly defined.
All comments on sharpening on repost welcome and appreciated.
