It's amazing how one element, the position of the bear's left paw, changes this from a static image to one filled with a sense of movement, direction, and power. Love your vertical presentation, and of course, your processing is superb.
Outstanding tonal range in the whites. Beautiful contrast of the white fur, with all its color tones to the starker white of the snow and ice. I agree with all Grace's comments as well. Outstanding image. Thanks for sharing. - John
Beautiful image....I really like the wet black of the nose against all the shades of white. Lots of texture here...you can almost feel the fur. Very well done.
Hi Chas, great image. I agree with grace on her comments about the left paw.What surprises me about this image is how much dept of field you have, from the nose to the rear paw at F 5.6.
A magnificent looking bear, and look at the size of those legs and paws. Excellent exposure, but I would liked to have seen more space on the right for him to walk into. Love the raised paw off the ice. I would love to experience a trip to the artic.
Very nice image Charles. What I like other than the dynamism presented by the lifting paw, which does not look like having been covered is the movement of the nose. It really is interested in something; aroused and on a mission to get to it! PP and all spot on for my taste.
