An early start on my local reservoir paid off the other day with some nice calm water allowing me to capture the reflections of the Common Terns as they skimmed across the surface...

Nice work on hand holding the 600.
Very nice details, the water drops and the back splash point really show the behavior pattern.
Nice pose on the turn and colors are really good.
The only minor idea is just a touch more room on the right, not really sure though.
The reflection is very good, especially at the beak and that small morsel he has in the beak was a great bonus.

I like the pose and details. The image needs a bit CW rotation, I would lighten the eye a bit and remove the sheen on the bill in the reflection.

    Steve:

I think Tony's composition is good here. Normally you do want more room "to fly into", but the attention is so strongly drawn down with the head position and reflection, that I believe this works as composed.

Excellent timing Tony, and I like the posture. Well done on including the reflection, and agree with Axel regarding some CW rotation.

Super capture Tony. Love the birds pose, the water trail and the reflection and the reflection.
Very well done to hand hold the 600mm lens.
