    took this picture in the local zoo. Let me know if you like it. Does the square crop work? I realise that the beak is not sharp. But it seems to matter less in this head-on view, right?

    40d. 300f4 non-is with 1.4x. handheld. 1/125 sec. f/5.6. iso 640. noise reduction using neatimage.

    All critiques and criticisms welcome.

    I like the pose and eye contact, BG works well, too. I would increase the saturation and contrast a few points and selectively sharpen the head a bit more. The crop works for me. Keep them coming!

    Thanks Axel. At effective focal length of 672, I was handholding at 1/125 without IS. There must be slight shake. I was infact surprised that this came out this well.
