Believe it or not, this is the actual color of the BG. It is a very bright, vivid green and is accentuated by the bright Florida sunshine.

Nice greenie Milt, I have shot 100's of these in bright lighted duckweed and this does seem
a bit strong on the color sat. Just as a viewing option, does this look anywhere similar
to the scene and not quite as harsh?

Also gave it a bit more selective sharpening on the heron

After taking another look at it, the actual green BG may be somewhere in between the two.

In a choice between preserving the background as it actually appeared that day, and presenting the subject in its best light, I would generally favor
the latter. But that's always an individual call. Beautiful details in the bird to bring out.

Hi - some nice reposts here - do feel the original was a little bright - but hey I was not there on the day.
Nice details in your bird and plenty sharp. Would have loved to see this from a lower angle - of course not possible due to the boardwalk.
Looking forward to seeing more :)

I like the sharp details on your bird Melt,
The background was a wee bit on the saturated side...The reposts take it over the top...good job...
