    Question Wimberly for landscape

I am planning a trip and will take my 500 f4 along with a heavy duty tripod and the full wimberly. I cannot, however, take an additional tripod for landscapes. I know I could just switch out the wimberly for a ball head but is there something that would attach to the wimberly to allow for landscapes (in either orientation) so I would not have to remove it?

    Thanks for your time.

Hi Carole There is a small adapter that will mount on the wimberly and change the camera mounting orientation. Not sure but I think I got it from Artie? Might want to call and ask Jim.

Wimberley M-8 Perpendicular plate or the longer RRS MPR-CL or CL-II (better when making panos)

If you don't use the vertical orientation offered by an L-bracket you could change your body plate to a bidirectional like the Markins PG-50 which will mount up to the Wimberly just fine. Or take a Sidekick instead of the full gimbal...
