Nice pose and colours, Chas. The perch is quite prominent but has a nice texture. The image looks dark to me - I think the -1 EC was a bit much or called for some +EC on the flash to compensate the bird while keeping the BG darker. Pulling the white point slider in levels to the left brightens the image quite nicely but exposing to get the histogram further right would have been better to limit noise. Masking the levels adjustment off the perch keeps it darker and you could mask it from the BG if you chose to keep that darker too..

Tony did a nice job of bringing out the best in this one. Nice framing and a beautiful bird. I was up at Magee over the Mother's Day weekend hoping to run into you. Guess that I was early......or you were late.

The image was bright on my monitor but looked dark on posting. I actually brightened the head. Any suggestions ?

Lana, I was in Belize during early May late April and then did the family thing for Mothers day. Spring migration time always seems to gallop by so fast.
I did like the look of the muscadine vine and this is the species I look for when I do a setup because of texture and lack of bright spots.

Very nice background. I like the change that brightening made.

Great perch and great repost. Glad that you got a few warblers... Was the bird coming to water or to song?

    Art,
Neither- Iwas on boardwalk and he was foraging along the edge. Also had good chances at Canada Warbler and there were 2 pair of Pro Warblers appearing to set up territory along boardwalk. Was able to shoot a decent Phil Vireo . Not great shooting but tolerable and BZ put me onto Grasshopper Spparrows and Bobolink singing.
PS: BZ finally got his Lawrence's Warbler after umpteen travel miles last week.

Thanks Chas. I got fooled by the "this is the species I look for..." statement. Gotta read more carefully. Thanks for the info. You did better than I did with migrants....
