    Default Forgotten Feather

This is one of the shots I took while experimenting for the MMDC. I tried a whole variety of compositions with this duck feather on an old log. For this one, I decided to try selectively desaturating it, a technique I've never really tried before. I tried both a B&W and a sepia version, please let me know which one you prefer. Any C&C are welcome!

    Here's the sepia version.

I think I like the sepia version better. Love the textures on the image especially the swirls in the wood.

Christopher, I like the desat image better. I think the image is more interesting to look at due to the difference in color and kept my interest longer. Both are appealing.

Christopher, I like the first one better but the second one is nice.I would prefer the feather down lower in the image so it would be out of the center. After looking them over again and again-It really is a toss up for me on the two! Nice work!!

Thanks everyone! Denise, I agree with you that it would look better with the feather lower down. I saved the feather, so I'll be able to take it out and do a reshoot.

I like the sepia but that first one is the bomb! The difference in color and texture is a real feast for the eyes. I think if you cropped a bit off the bottom you could easily solve the placement of the feather issue and have a terrific image.
