does this qualify? one i found from late last year. cant even remember what kind of bird this is even though i got a citation for reporting the band. does it bother anyone that there is no catchlight here? there is a very small one in the tiff that i'm sure i could bring out for the small jpeg.

D300, Bigma at 500m, f/6.3, 1/4000s, -0.7EV, ISO 400. i evidently was not paying attention to my ss. i would have definitely opted for a little more dof.

comments and critiques welcome and appreciated.

Hi Mr H - agree with your self critique - personally Yes I would like to see a little more life in the eye - if you look really hard you can just about make it out.
Love the low shooting angle - Mr Bird is a little too centered for my personal tastes, but can see why.

Spot on with your self assessment...just a tad more sharpening in the eye dept.

I like the inclusion of the seaweed Makes a difference Not sure how it would look just a little further from the grass? Love it either way !!!

I also like the seaweed, low angle. The DOF seems fine to me, I like the BG in this image. In this case the centered bird does not bother me. Nicely done.
