This is a shot of the very rare and famed Monopod Antelope, of the North American Prairie, so prized by photogs for its unsteady stance. ;) I shot this image, at Lion Country Safari, a few weeks ago. It is a rare species and seldom seen by visitors. I was fortunate to catch it in an upright position! :D

Unfortunately, due to its unsteady state, it is hard to get a clear shot of it. :o I was fortunate, with this shot, not to have the normal image with heavy blurs.

Hope we are able get a chance to view one in the wild someday. It's not as fast as the Prong Horn, for obvious reasons, but just as elusive.

    Enjoy! ;)

Denise & Paul, sorry but that is one of the mutations of the species. :( The foot is flat, or the monopod would be more unstable than it already is! :D

Verrrry interesting critter. And an interesting story too. Maybe his father was the rare pogo antelope?

great commentary Mark....purdy good flip too.
The slight misalignment gives it a great "snarly" look......keep 'em coming
