I believe in going with the flow and this afternoon, the humidity was so high at Butterfly World, that my lens was totally foggy. I didn't have anything decent to clean it with and rain was on the horizon, so you needed to make good use of your time. Here's one of my foggy lens captures. What do you guys think?

    Date: 5/31/09

    Model: NIKON D3
    Lens (mm): 300/4
    ISO: 1000
    Aperture: 5.6
    Shutter: 1/500
    Exp. Comp.: +0.7

Like the soft feel and colors in this! Good thinking to use the fogginess to your advantage. I would suggest removing the stem touching the butterfly's wing.

Situations such as these are sometimes blessing in disguise !
Love the diffused look the fog has given to this image. Abstract and dreamy look !
I totally like this image Fabs.

    Fabs,

I like the softness as well as the pastel colors. It feels very dreamlike and otherworldly. I also like the circular effect in the blurred background. Nicely done.

Sometimes I feel my better photographs happen when I begin a shoot without any expectations... as Alfred indicated that "you went with the flow."

Very dreamy and ethereal, Fabs...I'll have to remember this when I go to the local butterfly exhibit in August...they always put them in with the tropical plants and the fog machine is always cranking it out!

    Fabs,

Like the feel of this image. Your longwing butterfly looks so eloquent in this setting.
    Thanks for sharing....

Way to make lemonade from lemons, Fabs. I too like the dreamy look here - just wish the butterfly was a fresher looking specimen.
