In the five years that I have been in this region of Florida, I have never seen so many photographers, most of them carrying white prime lenses, and visitors as I did today at the refuge. Usually, I don't have to wait at the entrance gate, but today it took me about 3-4 minutes to go past the fee booth. The birds did not seem to mind that at all, which is a good thing...:)

This was image was made this morning at Ding Darling NWR - Sanibel Is. Florida. It started out as an overcast morning and stayed like that until close to 11:30. As usual, I am looking for your opinions relating to framing, exposure or any other flaws that you might see. Thanks in advance.

    Technicals:
Shutter Speed: 1/160Sec.; Aperture Value: F7.1; Evaluative metering; EC: +1/3; ISO800; Focal Length: 800.0 mm; Flash: Off; Auto White Balance; Manual Focus; 95% of the frame

I like the perch, pose and BG but it is too tight in the frame. The plumage has a blueish cast on my monitor and parts of the perch seem a bit overexposed.

Good exposure. Sharp. And a perfect head angle. If you had turned your camera to vertical, you would have had a perfect composition. I am not a fan of the perch.

Try one or both of these to get rid of the blue: Go to Hue/Sat, select the blue channel, and decrease the Blue SAT. And/or go to Selective Color, select the blacks, and move the yellow slider a bit to the right.

    later and love, artie

    Hi Mohammed,
I am glad to see that you got one before he was chased out of that perch. The one picture I got also has a blueish cast to it.

Thank you all for the suggestions. As Adams mentioned, we did not have enough time to compose a vertical frame for this because this one was chased away by a juvenile.

    Adams,
I tried the saturation slider on Blue channel and I was able to remove the blue cast. Hope that works for you too.

    Cheers,
