Hi Anita I like the pose and catch Good bg !!! You got the right ISO for shooting with that camera (had one for macro myself) Feathers look a little strange not sure if it is from cropping or processing Would suggest tightening the image The lower is not doing much and will have bird larger in frame !!!! Excellent !!!

Love that Mockingbird with the bug in his mouth. I have 2 "pet" mockingbirds at my school so I know how much personality they have. I agree with Al's crop suggestion. If you start from scratch, you might do less sharpening.....I think that's what may be making the feathers look so strange.

    Hi Anita,

Nice capture of this Mocker with prey. The bug adds interest and really makes the image. I agree with the suggestions of the others. It also looks like you used an imperfect mask to sharpen the bird and/or blur the bg. There are some artifacts surrounding the subject that could be avoided by tightening up the mask.

Alfred, Lana, Jim: Thanks so much for the comments and suggestions. This was taken before I started keeping "original" files, so I can't really do anything much with it. Hopefully the mocker pair will return this year and I can get new images, maybe better ones, ha!
