Got a chance to work on a few winter shots today....this one from early march down the Jersey shore. The edge of the pond was the only open water and this hoodie decided to get out and stretch the wings a bit. Dark bits on edge are ice chunks. More room than I usually leave:D....but this was at 1023 mm....when I realized I had a bit more lens....i went to 1120mm. Canon 1D Mark lll with the Sigma 300-800mm and the 1.4 tele at 1023mm for 1/3200 sec at f8 and ISO 800 all tripod mounted, Wimberly head, sitting on ground in snow, late afternoon light.

Difficult exposure with all that black and white managed very well, also love the low angle Roman :)

a really nice one Roman with general overall appeal.
I see a very nice tonal range and a forehead that "might" go a bit darker..
    Super low angle and bg.

Roman, This looks familiar! I posted the same shot in Avian back in March- I wonder if it was taken the day You me and Dave Mills shot. Anyway yours came out a bit better than mine -we did have some nice light that day,and we did sit in snow! If the snow wasn't there it would have been wall to wall poop!
