Lovely, Phil. Great colours, pose and BG. Might darken down the perch a little and you may be able to back the sharpening off a little over the neck and back.

    Phil:

Tony hit the high points. It is a lovely bird, well captured. Nice choice on DOF. The light must have been soft but fairly bright to allow that combination of ISO and f/stop.

I don't think you can do much better than this!

Beautiful, classic portrait of a stunning species. DoF is great, sharpness outstanding. I might lighten the detail around the eye slightly.

Super Phil. Simple, elegant presentation with great BG, head turn, lighting and colour. I tried the comp with a bit more room at the top and I think it gives a better balance.

Beautiful bird Phil. Your image looks good on my monitor with regard to sharpness. I would try to add a little canvas, but not much.

Great details, pose, soft light and details. Another vote for toning down the perch.

The soft light really brings out the colors of the bird. Like the vert. comp as well.

    Stunning image and bird.

Love the different colors here and the clean BG. Agree about toning down the perch.

Thanks for your comments all. Yes, I think a little more room at the top would do it. Spot you all in two months time. Back to work in the cold - Sakhalin Island!

Phil, Lovely pose, with amazing colours, and stands out nicely against the BG. I agree to tone the perch down a tad.
