    Default Little owl and bug

Taken a couple of years ago. As I found this Owl family.
I was just about to leave when I saw this Owl playing with the bug.

I like the symmetry of the pose and that intense eye contact. The beetle really adds an element on interest. I think darkening down the mid tones a little and darkening the grass stems left upper corner would be worth a try.

    Danny;:

A very intense stare. I would be very afraid if I was that bug. Tony gave good advice as usual. I feel it is a bit tight, but because the owl is crouching down, it doesn't bother me much. The eyes are riveting.

    Thanks for sharing.

Great capture of action/predation Danny. The eyes are intense and the owl almost looks guilty being caught in the act! I think the tight comp adds to this effect.

Love that stare! I agree with Tony about darkening the grass, and might try sharpening the beetle a little.

Great capture of this behavior. Is this a young bird? I like the stare and soft light and agree that the beetle could go a bit sharper.

Danny it is a bit tight to my taste but the stare is fantastic and the beetel on the claws is a real bonus. I like it a lot

This owl;s action is just like some big bird like eagle catching its food. Very much ferocious and cool eyed owl

I like the action and angle, it lets ou see the beetle well. A bit more DOF would have made this one better IMO.
