    Default Bird ID Help Please

    This guy is a little bit bigger than a Robin, Im not good with the smaller birds and ID, cant find this one in the books...

    I am by no means any kind of an expert but maybe a baby Starling.

    Looks like a European Starling to me, too.

    It is a starling in summer plumage (no flecking in the dark grey). Young starlings are a dark beige colour.

    We've had a couple of ID questions about starlings in the past and I think it's a sign that they are not as common as they used to be.

    When you can't find a bird in your guide book, check out the last section in the back. A number of the guide books place the birds not native to N.A. back there (starling, house sparrow etc).

    Thanks Everyone. I actually thought starling and found close matches, but what was thowing me off was the size.
    I do see starlings everyday and this bird is 40 percent bigger....

    It does appear to have its feathers puffed up!
