    Hi Folks:

Thank you for your kind comments. I was also lucky this year in catching the first Flame-colored Tanager at Madera Kubo B&B, April 30th, 2009: 7:28 AM http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2...48216361zbKGOb

Now to improve on the Flame today??

Nice capture Gus. A question - will the B&B allow you to setup a multi-strobe array at your own feeder or one of their feeders?

    Hi Dan:
To answer your question. Madera Kubo B&B has the best birds (Even a Flame-colored Tanager courting a Western Tanager, however the shooting area is perched above a stream and no real flat spots. Santa Rita Lodge, 1/4 mile down the road is ideal for multiple flash setups. Saw Ralph Paonessa, http://www.rpphoto.com/ there first a few years back and was impressed with his expertize and hard work ethics.
Joe McDonald & Photo trap http://www.hoothollow.com/ was there a few weeks holding a workshop using the Photo trap.

3 weeks ago Pat Hunt Huimmingbirds http://www.flickr.com/photos/pathunt/sets/72157613062283465/ came into madera Kubo B&B with some beautiful multiple flash hummer photos (At least I thought they were) Cora didn;t want to buy any, but I thought at $15.00 each they were a steal and bought 4 for Cora to sell. Alas no intrest in them so I took them and gave them as gifts.

Tomorrow, I'm going to post a Humminbird abstract of 2 birds I caught in flight playing at Kubo, and did some crazy manipulation using CS4, now posted at Webshots http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/572343613tYlUwd

I love your Costa Rica photos, and wish I was into photography back in the 80"s as I was a regular visitor when there was lots to see along with the birds (5 x in '85) Thought of moving there as a Pensionado :)

    Thanks for your links

Thanks Gus, I shot hummers at the Santa Rita Lodge back in the 80's and also up at Boggs Springs CG. I was just curious about the B&B. Thanks for your info, I need to get back there again! Costa Rica was fabulous! gotta go back there too:D
