I took this photo late in the day earlier this month. The image is cropped a little. I used Topaz noise reduction and a NIK Photo Stylizer filter.

    Hi Jim

Good looking bird and neat sky !!!

Was wondering about the tech settings. Not sure I would stop down to f 10 at the expense of a slow shutter speed !! About the only way I would do so is if I was using flash ... and even then would be 250 to 320 Need to have that face razor sharp !!

Exposure wise didn't see the comp but should be plus for this one Did you have to open some in PS !!! Excellent image !!

I did use flash. I increased the exposure some in PS. It was one of those grab and shoot moments at the Alligator Farm.

    Hi James,
I like the placement of the bird in frame with the open wings...also like the effects from the filter used...It has a painterly look to it...

Hi - like the painted effect - think I would crop some from the top - would have liked the head/eye a little sharper/clearer. Keep them coming :)

    James,

Great background nice colors and tone, easy on the eyes. As you know, when you combine slow shutter with BIF usually get a softer image. But a nice image, I love the feel of the sky.

Love your filters James and the way you have positioned the bird in the frame. Should try posting in OOTB for additional critiques. I think it is very nice!
