    Default Theme: Asian and Flipped

Please note: my images are not included in the judging

This is from a young gull I had posted here:
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=37185

Flipped, added a gradient, textures, frame etc. The calligraphy is ox, rabbit, monkey and pig.
Why? Just liked the characters I guess. I felt the flip gives this almost an egg shape
    with bird emerging

Dave, Very cool! I like the crinkled paper BG ! The calligraphy looks neat down the center!(Why would your image not be included in the judging?)

Thanks, I had previously let Dan know that I do not enter contests, picture of day, or
make any photo submissions for publication etc......ever.
    It's just something I don't do. I just participate if/when I can

I also like the crinkled paper background. It gives depth to the image...if you know what I mean. The colors are good, too, and I like the warm feel of the entire image.

Your choices of the characters and the way you arranged them, together with the gulls...let just say it will puzzle the native speakers :)

Thanks Desmond, you probably are getting a good laugh at our attempts.
To us non-natives......the images are pretty nice looking, we're are somewhat blind in our attempts
and have to go for the visual, rather than the real.
    Very much appreciate your comments

Actually, they bring a smile on my face.

I fully understand that you guys are mostly adding some Asian flavor to your images rather than creating some traditional Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Asian paintings. And I fully realize that those characters are just symbols to many of you and it is likely that it is not their meanings that you're after. Believe me, I'm not here to make fun of anything. The efforts you put in to create some beautiful image put me to shame. You are creating images that I'm not able to. And, like on other forums here in BPN, I've been seeing good images and enjoying them. So keep up the good works !
