...well, more of a pre-display really. I took this shot a couple of weeks ago in Leamington, Ontario, where I had the good fortune to spend a day learning from Arthur Morris while he was on his Warbler Chase road trip. The warblers were not cooperating so we spent the better part of the day at a feeder set up, which is where this shot was taken (the feeder set up is viewable on Artie's blog).
Captured with a Nikon D90, 200-400mm VR @ f/5, iso 1000 (?), evaluative metering +1 stop.
Nice one Graham, I love how you captured the colours of this guy's plumage. Nice pose too. Sharp where it needs to be and for this I don't mind the shallow-ish DOF.
Hey Graham, I had a great day too. I am fine with focusing on the eye and letting the rest fly. You might try brightening the face and the iris just a bit with a QM or two. Love to Angie; she is a darling.
