    These guys are normally found on the edge of roads. This was taken in a small nature reserve, near Pretoria, close to my house. Sharing a species that you probably dont have over there.

    Your right , we don't have this one in the states!

    Sharp, well exposed, great eye. I would have preferred a different sun angle, more over your shoulder, but you do get nice modeling here. Even neater perhaps would be with the bird facing the other way, so the wattle and crest were better illuminated.

    The lighting gives the bird some nice 3 dimensionality. Always fun to see a new bird, particularly one with an impressive wattle.

    Good-looking specimen and eye contact, BG looks good, too. I only wish for a better light angle.

    We sure don't have this species in America. (I mean the whole continent, just in case...)
    Beautiful species, those wattles are amazing, I find the light to be gorgeous.
