    took this shot a couple of weeks ago,coming off local river,maybe a little too much noise reduction.cannon 40d.400prime lens,1/3200sec,f8.0,iso640,hand held,early morning.cropped.comments good or bad.thanks.

    Chris:

    I like the pose with the full downstroke on wings, head angle and angle in frame.

    The bird isn't quite sharp, most noticeable in eye/head/bill. If you didn't selectively apply noise reduction to the background, that might be a factor here.

    From an exposure standpoint, the orange bill and the whites on wing are blown. Backing down the contrast just a bit will help there.

    Chris, I like the flying posture, and good placement in the comp. The clouds in the BG add to the image nicely. Randy hit the nail with regards to the NR.

    Pose and BG are lovely, Chris - sharpness/NR issue mentioned. Focus seems good so I think reprocessing may worthwhile.
