    Default Borneo: Rufous Collared Kingfisher

This juvenile male sat quietly as I made one shot each step until I got it full frame eventually. Taken under total canopy cover it was a challenge to get the exposure right and hopefully I have here with the minimal use of fill flash to avoid spooking the bird as well as not altering the colours of the feathers.

Lovely bird, pose and BG, Phil. Images looks a little flat and I think a contrast boost would be good - I would also burn in the sheen on the top of the beak a little.

Phil, lovely pose, with good detail, and an assortment of colours. I like the perch too. Tony has done a great job in the repost.

Phil this one is fantastic. The head turn and eye contact are perfect to my taste. Fill flash worked fine. Perch and BG very good. I only suggest to darken the pupile a bit because it looks blue due to the effect of fill flash. Your images makes me to miss a travel to Borneo that I did some years ago. Amazing place! Keep them coming
