The house sparrows in the back yard are very active with their new flock of little ones. Dad is feeling pretty special. ;)

Converted and cropped in LR2, CS4 for Topaz Denoise on BG and Smart Sharpen on the bird. Shot in late afternoon and had a very strong color cast, so I adjusted the WB in PS.
I do like the fluffed appearance and the eye contact. Browns pop up well. Very nice background. Also like the background and perch colours. Only wish for the beak to show up more.
I like it!
Hi Kerry - love the fluffed up pose - colours are great, a little more head turn towards the right for my tastes.
Think I would try and crop the light coloured post from the RHS, tends to draw my eye to it - instead of keeping the attention on mr bird.
:)
I like it Kerry,
the only thing that I would suggest is to desaturate the colored fence post to the right, t make it blend in with the rest; thus keeping all of the attention on the little guy...good show...
Super photo, like the House Sparrows at this time of year fluffying up and jumping for attention to get some food from the parents. Actually they are a tough bird to keep in focus as they are constantly moving back and forth. NBD to get them on a feeder, but to catch them sitting still is a bonous.
Nice work, thanks for sharing.

BTW: Have you noticed that when sendig a photo from LR2 to CS4, you need the Bridge update from CS4?
Jeff, I did the color balance adjustments in CS4 to remove a rosy color cast. Moved cyan/red more toward cyan, magenta/green more toward green, and yellow/blue more toward blue. I use my ten-step gray scale (posted in digital workflow) as a reference. I keep this little file open as a floating window so I can compare the neutral tones to known neutral shades.
