I'm out way early in am, so here is next trial.
This one is from a little kinglet I posted yesterday in Avian
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=37380

Figured out a way to get the cloth texture "after" working thru
Topaz Simplify and in this case, the matte and frame are a very important
part of the presentation IMO. Hope you like.....this is a very fun week indeed.
    Thanks for all the input.

Dave, I think it's spot on! I love the texture and the framing. Your little Kinglet is so sweet looking and has a very delicate painted look! BTW -Nice base image!!!

Awesome Dave! Love the base image also! After viewing the base, I think that maybe your illustration here could benefit from more room on the left in front of the bird. Also, the bill in your illust. seems to get lost in the BG. Lightening the BG in that area would help this.:) Man, I am going to be pulling my hair out to pick winners this week!

    Thanks Denise and Dan.
Regarding the faded beak, that and the left leg were intentional.....to look
old and worn/faded. And the square crop was intentional, as I had just
viewed some square oriental art. I should have had bird this size, gut in a
    larger square maybe

I understand your points and so much appreciate the critique

Hey Dave, IMO I think you got this just right as far as creating that loose watercolor effect. This is very well handled...

I wouldn't change a thing. I like the worn look to this.
