Generally in a over the shoulder or look back pose like this, you want the head to be parallel to the cameras sensor plane. The nice eye helps here, but in a perfect world, you would prefer the head turned more towards us.
There is just a little noise in the background which could be cleaned up. I would also consider toning down the brightness of the lower background, as it competes with the bird. You might want to tone down the perch a bit too, but it isn't bad.
Firs post is better as you lost detail in the eye and the head on the repost and the color of the beak looks more natural in the original -- the BG is cleaned up nicely.
Harshad, welcome to avian. Lovely looking kingfisher, and its great to see other kinds of this species, as we have quite a few others in South Africa too. I like the pose with the beak parallel to the perch. The light seems a bit harsh from the right, and I would tone down the highlight on his side, and on the lower part of the tail.
Welcome, Harshad. great bird for a first post. Randy has covered the issues well. I might tone down the sharpening on the feathers on the back a bit. I like the pose in the second image but unfortunately the nictitating membrane over the eye is spoiling the image by removing eye contact. For future reference it is preferred if you keep to one image per thread - edited reposts of the same image are good but better to post another image as as separate thread. Looking forward to more of your images.
