    Default Flight in the Garden

I had a blast last Saturday at Butterfly World, trying to catch some in flight. I found the profile works the best, getting the dorsal doesn't work because of the movement. If you think Purple Martins are hard, wait till you try this!
Especially done with the close focus, that slows the AF down significantly.

OMG!!! I love it, especially with the porter weed, which is becoming one of my favorite plants to get butterflies on. I looked up Butterfly World today and will have to get down there!! Congrads on this one Fabs! The colors and the timing are just spot on.

I bow to the queen! Gosh that is gorgeous! I love that you can see the movement of the BF - I think it only adds to the anticipation of it landing on that bush!

    Fabs:

A beauty. Just when I thought I was getting the hang of butterflies, along comes your image. Oh well, back to the drawing board for me.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

I have only seen one other image like this of a butterfly in flight. Really cool, and I can't imagine how hard. Well done Fabs:).

Nice birdwing butterfly! Love the angle of its wings in flight.
