Two days ago, not a Bobolink in sight..now they seem to be everywhere...This one was only male that would sit still long enough to be photographed...rather large crop...thats probably why it looks soft around the face...cloned one twig...Thanks

I tried photographing Bobolinks today, but none would still long enough, so I know what a good job you have done. Good placement of the bird in the frame, and I agree that some parts are a bit soft. Like the open bill.

The light seems a bit harsh, but decent. I like your composition and keep trying, you are going to nail the perfect one :)

I like the composition on this one but you've got a big patch of blown highlights on the top of the wing. I tried to recover them in Camera Raw and they are really gone. It's hard to expose for a bird with both black and white patches but keep trying!

I like the perch, pose and BG. The light looks a bit harsh and the heavy crop shows but it's not too bad. It's always great to see this species and to hear it.

Paul, super pose, and well timed to get the open beak. I like the perch, and what a killer BG. Comp wise, I would maybe take a bit off the bottom. This species looks very similar to our bishop bird with regards to the shape of the head, and beak.

A great background, Paul, and a really nice perch. I agree with cropping a bit off the bottom. I'd love to photograph one of these and always enjoy seeing them posting. I look forward to more.
