    Default Yellow Crowned Night Heron In Palm Tree

    Found a YCNH a while ago posing in a different tree. They usually are sleeping or larthargic at least. Like the bright blue sky against the palm leaves. Sorry for the steep angle at Alligator Farm.

    Canon EOS- 1D, EF 100- 400 mm f/4.5- 5.6 at 400 mm zoom and tripod with Wimberley. My exposure was 1/640 sec. @ f/11.0 ISO 200.

    Good catch and eye contact. He seems a bit centered, I'd move him to the left of the frame. Very nice exposure.

    I agree I would move him left...I would also crop away about half of the palm as I feel the image quite bottom-heavy. Neat setting, and the heron seems to be looking right at you :-)
