Some of you may remember the original image from eager to learn a while back. Used several filters including underpainting, drybrush, and craquelure. The text on the side says either "Peaceful Lily", or "Cold Pizza" depending on how my compuer translated :D There's been some beautiful images so far this week, and I just wanted to give it a try. Thanks for looking, and thanks for the inspiration.

Beautiful effort here Dave! I would like to see the calligraphy a smaller font, but this is very nice! I am not sure about the color of the calligraphy? I would like to see it black and I would be hesitant to use any color other than black as some colors (when used on Chinese art with chops at least) can have meanings that you do not intent or wouldn't want. There is a specific color used for funerals only! (or maybe it was Pizza!:D:D)

Dave, The image is lovely and I like the texture BG. You did a great job combining the different effects! I think black for the font is a good suggestion. Might even put a slight border. Well done Dave-

Dan, thanks for the thoughts and information. I certainly was not aware of the significance of the color. That's another benefit of participation here..
Denise, I had tossed the idea of a border around a bit, but was afraid I would overpower the image. I might try a thin boarder or stroke. Thanks again.

Dave, I would only put a slight border or stroke on it for presentation here on BPN , but I don't feel the image needs a border(just wanted to clarify that)

Excellent composition. The simplicity of the three leaves with the lily and the texture makes it stand out. Would love to see this with the changes Dan has suggested.

Here is the file with the above suggestions. I have to admit that the black text does look much better. I tried to keep the border slim to not overpower.
