The weather over the last week has been very hot and humid, a pair of these birds came in for a late afternoon drink yesterday afternoon.

These birds visit daily for a drink most of the year, they are always one of my favourite subjects.

Nice pose, perch and BG. I would give it a bit more space top and bottom and apply another round of sharpening to the bird. It looks a bit soft as it is.

Nice image Ian - good detail in the whites - you might want to try selectively sharpening the eye to get it to really pop.

A nice composition of this pigeon Ian - I like the BG and placement of the perch. Agree that the bird would benefit by a little more USM.

Lovely on all counts. Love the bird, the slightly open bill, the BKGR, and the near-SQ crop. Reminds me of White-tipped Dove, a primarliy Mexican species that crosses over into the Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas; they may be closely related.

Love the alert pose in this image and great exposure and eye contact . Agree about a little more room top and bottom. Thanks for sharing !

A wonderful image. Agree on a touch more sharpening and if you have the opportunity and can set up a more interesting perch that would take this up a notch.

Thanks everyone, I am struggling a little bit with sharpening, I have 3 versions of this and chose this one thinking the others may have been to sharp.

This is what I like about this site, you learn so much. I will post one of the other version later for comparison, thanks again.
